This report is for the last 2 weeks. Well it’s finally that time of year again on the Big G. It’s frog season, and even though it was delayed by the harsh winter causing the grass not to grow as fast, it is in full swing at the moment. Putting in at the Goose Pond boat ramp, I have fished and had success fishing the grass mats in and around Goose Pond, south of Goose Pond toward the Waterfront/Preston Island area, and even as far north as Roseberry Creek, Jones Creek, and the BB Comer Bridge. Most of my fish have been coming on a soft plastic frog with a 1/8thoz swimbait hook, a 1 1/2oz punching with a beaver style bait, and a Keitech swim bait on occasion. With the first cold front of the fall moved through this past friday, the fall bite for frogs and punching baits should really fire up in the next week or two. So, if your itching to get that first frog fish of the fall season, there isn’t a better lake in the Southeast to do that on than Guntersville! Safe Boating and Tight Lines!
